Tech Bytes: French Software Firm Gets a $9.7M Infusion

GlobeID Software, a France-based provider of electronic commerce transaction software, said it has obtained $9.7 million of funding.

Venture Partners of Switzerland led the group of new investors in GlobeID. It included JAFCO Co., a joint venture of several leading Japanese financial institutions, and two Belgian organizations-Ackermans & van Haaren and Generale Bank, which is part of the Fortis Group.

"We are delighted to have completed on time this high-caliber, international private placement," said Francois J. Chaillou.

"Not only is our ambitious business plan fully funded," he said, "but our new investors, along with Bull, constitute an outstanding group of active partners whose complementary skills and networks will boost the deployment of our solutions on a worldwide basis."
