Tech Bytes: NCR, Netscape Join For Network Products

NCR and Netscape Communications Corp. have agreed to work together on building products for corporate intranets and for Internet-based electronic commerce.

The agreement calls for Netscape's World Wide Web applications software to be adapted for use within NCR's version of the Unix operating system.

Together, the two companies aim to help banks "leverage the open standards of the Internet in an enterprise environment to build high performance intranets and commercial Web sites," according to Srivats Sampeth, vice president of marketing at Mountain View, Calif.-based Netscape.
