Tech Bytes: Nebraska Institution Offers Net Banking

State Bank of Hildreth has become one of the first banks in the state to offer a fully transactional Internet banking service.

The $23 million-asset bank, serving a town of 346 people, chose nFront of Bogart, Ga., as its provider of Internet banking software.

With nFront's nHome software running on a Windows NT operating platform, customers can open accounts, apply for loans, track balances, transfer funds, and pay bills.

"It was important for us to be the first in the market to implement an Internet banking branch," said Ross Knott, president and chief executive officer of the bank. "We intend to extend the bank's reach throughout the state of Nebraska as well as the rest of the nation."
