Tech Bytes: Summit of New Jersey Upgrading Terminals

NSS Corp. said Summit Bank of New Jersey is using its NSS Perspective software for upgrading 4,000 workstations in its branches to the Microsoft Windows NT operating system.

The conversion began late last year and will continue through most of 1998, NSS said. Teller terminals were to be done first, followed by the customer-service platforms.

Summit is moving to an enterprisewide NT standard and is adding Lotus Notes, among others.

Summit Services, the technology arm of $30 billion-asset Summit Bancorp of Princeton, supports 450 branches.
