Tech Bytes: US Order, Colonial Data Plan Merger as Tritech

US Order and Colonial Data Technologies announced plans to merge and create a company to be called Tritech Corp.

US Order, based in Herndon, Va., makes a range of home banking technologies, including screen-based telephones. Colonial Data, based in New Milford, Conn., designs caller identification and related appliances.

An announcement from the two companies said William F. Gorog, chairman and chief executive of US Order, will be chairman of Tritech. Robert J. Schock, chairman and chief executive of Colonial Data, will be vice chairman and chief executive. John C. Backus, president and chief operating officer of US Order, will hold the same posts in the new company.

The merger requires stockholder approval.
