The award is given for achieving financial milestones within a year of making a presentation at the Venture Market West conference.
Verisign accepted the award May 5 in at the 1997 conference in Monterey, Calif., for securing $30 million in a third round of financing. Among the funding sources for Verisign, a 1995 spinoff of RSA Data Security Inc., were Microsoft, Cisco Systems, First Data, Intuit, Reuters, and AT&T Ventures.
