Residents in Allen have approved

a total of $20.3 million in bond

issues for streets and drainage, parks,

library improvements, and fire

stations.

In a June 25 election, voters in the

Dallas suburb approved four

propositions to spend $6.7 million for

streets and drainage projects; $4

million for public safety, including new

fire stations; $7.1 million for parks

and recreation; and $2.5 million for

library improvements.

The residents defeated a

proposition to issue $5.6 million in bonds

for a new city hall in Allen, which is

undergoing rapid growth.
