Total System Promotes Two to Executive VP

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Total System Services Inc. said it has promoted two senior vice presidents, M. Troy Woods and James B. Lipham, to executive vice president.

"These two gentlemen have distinguished themselves as leaders who have consistently produced superior results," said Richard W. Ussery, chairman and chief executive of the credit card processing company. "Their wealth of knowledge and expertise will continue to help us thrive in this fiercely competitive marketplace."

Mr. Woods, who oversees marketing, sales, and business development, is taking responsibility for Total System's international activities and for converting customers to the new TS2 software.

He joined the company in 1987 from Amsouth Bank of Birmingham, Ala., and became a senior vice president in 1992. He currently serves on the board of Total System Services de Mexico.

Mr. Lipham, the chief financial officer, joined the finance division of Total System's parent, Synovus Financial Corp., in 1984, when it was known as CB&T Bancshares. He transferred to Total System as treasurer in 1987 and later became senior vice president and CFO.
