Trump nominates affordable housing official as HUD general counsel

WASHINGTON — President Trump has nominated Paul Compton, an Alabama attorney with affordable housing experience, to serve as general counsel for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Compton is a partner in the Birmingham law firm of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP.

Compton has served as general counsel to the Alabama Affordable Housing Association and is a member and former state chairman of the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development.

He joined Bradley Arant in 1989 after graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law.
