Trustmark of Miss. Names Chairman

Trustmark Corp. said Tuesday it has named Ted H. Kendall 3d to be chairman of its board of directors.

Mr. Kendall has been a bank director for 28 years and is the board's executive committee chairman. He is president of Gaddis Farms Inc., a Bolton, Miss., agribusiness.

He succeeds Frank R. Day, who retired this week after 18 years as chairman. Mr. Day had been chief executive officer of the bank from 1981 until May 1997. Richard G. Hickson remains Trustmark's president and CEO.

Trustmark, the parent company of Trustmark National Bank, is based in Jackson. It has 140 branches and $6 billion of assets.
