Unisys Unveils Software Deal For Call Centers

Unisys Corp. plans to boost its presence in bank call centers through a distribution agreement with Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories Inc.

Genesys is a San Francisco-based maker of computer telephony software.

The agreement allows Blue Bell, Pa.-based Unisys to bundle its call center workflow software, dubbed FBA Navigator, with Genesys telecommunications software that improves "inbound" and "outbound" call routing and handling.

A Unisys executive said the package would let banks use their call centers for marketing and sales efforts in addition to handling transactions.

"It will make tellers sellers," said Evelyn Barber, product manager of FBA Navigator.

FBA Navigator is a series of call center applications, including spreadsheets for strategic planning, marketing and sales lead generators and managers, and transactional components.

Unisys said it has installed its program bundled with Genesys' software in two financial institutions, one in Peru and one in South Africa.
