Walker Hired As President In Bank One'S Louisiana Unit

Bank One Louisiana in Baton Rouge has hired Steve Walker to be president of its northwest Louisiana region.

He was president of commercial and professional banking at First American Corp. in Nashville, which Amsouth Bancorp. of Birmingham, Ala., bought in October. He left First American in July.

Mr. Walker will start his new job in Shreveport, La., on March 2, succeeding George D. Nelson Jr. Mr. Nelson will remain chairman of the bank's advisory board of directors.

Mr. Walker joined First American in 1998 when it bought his employer, Deposit Guaranty Trust of Jackson, Miss. He had come to Deposit Trust in 1997 when it bought his previous employer, Commercial National Bank in Shreveport.

He began his banking career at Texas Commerce Bank in Houston.

Bank One Louisiana is a subsidiary of Chicago-based Bank One Corp.


MIDWEST

Associated Banc-Corp in Green Bay, Wis., has promoted Michael R. Finn to president of its Associated Commercial Mortgage Inc.He succeeds David G Krill, who retired from the post. Mr. Krill will remain a director of the subsidiary and a member of the directors' loan committee. He will also be a consultant to the new management for the rest of this year.

Mr. Finn joined Associated Commercial Mortgage 13 years ago and became a senior vice president last year.

Associated Banc-Corp has $12.3 billion of assets.


MIDDLE ATLANTIC

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has hired Michael Yorke as the senior vice president in its automation and systems services group.Mr. Yorke is in charge of electronic security, information technology, the network and data center operations, as well as for systems development, strategic analysis, and technology training functions.

He was a vice president and director of Citibanking systems and technology at Citibank North America. He joined Citibank in 1986 as vice president of global banking systems in the international division of its global consumer bank.

Before that he worked at American Express Co., where he was division vice president of systems and operations for the Asia, Pacific, Australia division. Still earlier he worked for International Computers (USA) Ltd. In New York.


Sovereign Bank in Philadelphia has hired Philip S. Kolm as vice president of professional services in its commercial banking group.He reports to William T. Heath, senior vice president and senior lending officer, and will work at the bank's North Jersey headquarters, in Fairfield.

Mr. Kolm was manager of strategic partnerships at the Financial Executives Institute, a contact and resource organization in Morristown, N.J. He has 30 years of financial services experience.

SOUTHEAST

Hibernia National Bank in New Orleans has promoted assistant vice presidents Ado W. Ball and Nancy Montoya to vice president.Mr. Ball investigates internal and external crimes committed against Hibernia. He joined Hibernia in 1990.

Ms. Montoya is a community outreach director for southern Louisiana. She joined in 1993.

The bank has also promoted Yvette Soulant Soniat and Lisa Lee to assistant vice president.

Ms. Soniat will manage corporate payroll processing and governmental reporting and maintenance of the bank's human resources data base. She was a human resources officer and has 10 years of banking experience.

Ms. Lee will continue in her duties as a commercial banking officer.She has 10 years of banking experience.
