Zopa Hires Network Security Firm

Social lending firm Zopa has decided to outsource its IT network protection management in order to concentrate on its burgeoning peer-to-peer loan service that has garnered partnerships with major credit unions. Zopa has gone with Houston-based Alert Logic, which will deploy a software-as-a-solution (SAAS) module that will free Zopa from deploying and maintaining its own detection and vulnerability management infrastructure, according to a release.

Alert Logic, founded in 2002, has logged more than 500 new clients this year for its on-demand IT compliance and security packages. The company garnered $8.25 million in venture capital earlier this year.
