It takes IQ, EQ and LQ to succeed in banking

In a speech Thursday night, Mary Callahan Erdoes shared some advice she picked up about motivating employees from business magnate Jack Ma.

She had argued that IQ and EQ were essential to career success. Ma told her so was LQ.

If you don't know what LQ is, don't worry. She didn't either.

Erdoes was one of the keynote speakers at the 2017 Most Powerful Women in Banking awards dinner, which attracted a ballroom full of the industry's top executives to Cipriani Wall Street. You can read more about the event and see additional video clips here.

In a separate video clip from her speech, Erdoes shared a funny story about her boss, Jamie Dimon, that working moms everywhere can appreciate.

Erdoes, the chief executive of the asset management unit at JPMorgan Chase, tops the list of the Most Powerful Women in Finance again this year.
