Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. promoted Brian O'Connell, the chief information officer for its life operations, to the newly created position of senior vice president and chief information officer for the company.
Mr. O'Connell will start his new job Oct. 6. He will report to Tom Marra, the company's president and chief operating officer.
The promotion was announced last week.
As the company's chief investment officer, Mr. O'Connell will develop and implement a centralized, companywide information technology strategy, Hartford said.
He has worked for the company since last year, when he was hired as its vice president of information technology management for life operations.
