John Hancock Financial Network, the distribution system of John Hancock Life Insurance Co., has announced the promotion of Brian B. Heapps to executive vice president of sales and business development.
The company said Wednesday that Mr. Heapps will be responsible for the finance, training, recruiting, regional business consultant, and supervisor divisions of the Boston-based network, which has more than 300 branch offices and about 1,500 financial representatives nationally.
He joined Hancock in 1987 and was the managing partner of Keystone Financial Management, an independent office of John Hancock Financial Network that he founded in the late 1990s.
Hancock is a wholly owned subsidiary of Manulife Financial Corp., a Toronto financial services company that had $341 billion of assets under management at Sept. 30.
