In Brief: Hancock Wealth Unit Recruits VP-Analyst

John Hancock's private-client group has announced the hiring of Christopher J. Perry to be a vice president and analyst in its wholly owned subsidiary Sovereign Asset Management Co.

Mr. Perry joins Sovereign from Turner Investment Partners in Berwyn, Pa., where he was a principal, portfolio manager, and senior security analyst, Hancock said on Tuesday. Previously he was a security analyst at PMG Ltd., an investment brokerage firm in Conshohocken, Pa.

Hancock's private-client group managed about $1.5 billion of assets for institutions, endowments, foundations, and high-net-worth people at June 30. The Boston-based Sovereign is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of John Hancock Financial Services Inc., also headquartered in Boston.
