Mellon Financial Corp. said Monday that it had promoted Vicary M. Graham to regional president of its private wealth management group in Massachusetts.

In this role, she is to be responsible for Mellon's private wealth management practice in the Bay State as well as in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and northern Connecticut, the company said.
Ms. Graham has worked more than 20 years for Pittsburgh-based Mellon, most recently as a managing director of private wealth management sales in New England. She also oversaw private banking operations in the Northeast.
