PNC Hires D.C. Wealth Head

PNC Financial Services Group Inc. announced that it hired Stephen Thormahlen as managing director of PNC Wealth Management in the Washington region.

He will lead a 50-member team and oversee the growth of wealth management services for high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses in the Washington area, the Pittsburgh company's fastest-growing market.

Mr. Thormahlen had been the president and chief executive officer of Fiduciary Investment Management International in Washington for the past 16 years.

Before that he had operated his own investment management company and worked as a vice president and regional manager for Chase Manhattan Bank.

PNC Financial Services Group announced the hiring last week.
