U.S. Trust Set to Ramp Up Hiring

U.S. Trust plans on adding more than 200 people this year to expand its wealth management team.

The Bank of America Corp. unit "continues to make strategic hires in key markets such as Atlanta and New York," U.S. Trust's president, Keith Banks, said in a press release Thursday. "Meanwhile, new and proposed laws have significantly increased the complexity of tax, trust and estate planning for wealthy individuals and families. In response to our clients' needs, we have not only expanded the number of wealth management professionals over the past year, but we have brought on people with news skills and expertise."

New employees include Karen Reynolds Sharkey, who joined from JPMorgan Chase & Co., as New York market executive. Also hired were two private client advisers: John Rogers, from Brown Brothers Harriman; and Jill Fopiano, from Citigroup Inc.

Grant Boyd was named market executive in Atlanta. He previously worked at Wells Fargo & Co.'s Private Bank.
