In Brief: Pacific Century Hires Mainland Unit CEO

Pacific Century Financial Corp. of Honolulu has hired a former Union Bank of California executive to run mainland banking.

Marshall V. Laitsch on Tuesday became the president and chief executive of $1.3 billion-asset Pacific Century Bank.

Mr. Laitsch, formerly a senior vice president for commercial lending at Union Bank, succeeds David Rainer, who resigned Jan. 31 and is now president and chief executive at Western Bancorp's Santa Monica bank subsidiary.
