PayPal says CFO Jorgensen to take leave for medical condition

PayPal Holdings said Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen is taking a leave of absence to address a treatable medical condition.

Jorgensen, who took on the role last month, will be replaced on an interim basis by Gabrielle Rabinovitch, according to a statement on its website. Rabinovitch will also continue to serve as vice president of capital markets, investor relations and treasurer.

"Blake has been fully immersed in serving the company during his first months as CFO," Chief Executive Officer Dan Schulman said in a memo to staff. "We are looking forward to Blake returning to his role following his recovery."

PayPal has been in the midst of a series of management changes. Jorgensen assumed the role following former CFO John Rainey's departure to join Walmart Inc. earlier this year. The company has said it is also conducting an external search for a new chief product officer in anticipation of the retirement of Mark Britto later this year.
