Charaka Kithulegoda is the Chief Information Officer at Tangerine. He is responsible for leading and managing the bank’s IT operations and oversees the Project Management Office. With an interest in disruptive technology and biometrics, Charaka is always looking for innovative ways to make banking simpler, relevant and more engaging for the bank’s Clients.During his time at Tangerine, Charaka has spearheaded and enabled consumer-focused projects such as the launch of Tangerine’s mobile banking platform, voice banking and biometrics – along with many other products and services that have utilized technology to provide an exceptional customer experience. An avid runner and cyclist, Charaka has participated in Princess Margaret Hospital’s annual Ride to Conquer Cancer since its very first year. He has volunteered his skills and passion for technology to help The Stop, a local community-based organization, to define and implement a sustainable IT strategy.Charaka received his EMBA from the Ivey Business School in 2014. He was named IT Leader of the Year by Computer World Canada in 2011 and Mobile Banker of the Year by Mobile Technology News in 2013.
