John Bates

Dr. John Bates is the president, chief technology officer and cofounder of Apama. Bates is a world-respected expert in the areas of distributed and mobile computer systems. He completed his Ph.D. in mobile and distributed computing at Cambridge University in 1993. Until 2000, Bates was a Cambridge University Lecturer and Fellow of St. Catharine's College. In his role as a Cambridge "Don," Bates led several renowned research projects, often in collaboration with industry, and designed and taught courses in the areas of operating systems, distributed systems, software engineering and mobile computing. Bates has been an invited speaker and chair at many International technology conferences. Bates is a co-inventor of Apama's unique and patent- pending technology.
