JACKSON, Mich. – In the spirit of “American Idol,” 10 teenagers will compete for fame and prizes this weekend in the American 1 CU Teen Idol contest.
Ten singers between the ages of 13 and 19 will compete in the final round of this year’s Teen Idol contest, which will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
This year’s winner will be determined by a three-member panel of judges. The winner will receive a $2,000 savings bond and a new notebook computer. Second place is a $500 bond, and third place is a $250 bond. All semifinalists will receive a prize package from local businesses.
In addition, decibel readings will be taken during the final round, with the contestant with the loudest response receiving a special prize.
