JACKSONVILLE, N.C.-A 24-year-old Marine who has served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan and who is a member of Marine FCU here has won a grand prize valued at more than $10,000 as part of a credit card-related sweepstakes. Patrick Slayton was selected from among thousands of entrants in the "A Million & More Sweepstakes" sponsored by FIS and Tampa-based CSCU. The sweepstakes was open to anyone who, over a three-month period, used their ScoreCard Rewards debit or credit card for qualifying purchases.
Slayton, who is currently based at Camp Lejeune, won the grand prize of 1,000,001 bonus points to be redeemed for travel or merchandise or a three-day, two-night trip to Chicago with a Warehouse Dash and Grab valued up to $10,000 in merchandise. Slayton was presented with his winnings by Marine Federal EVP (and retired major general) Bob Dickerson. The young Marine said the first thing he plans to buy are gifts for his parents.
