Affinity Group Changes Name to Michigan Legacy CU

PONTIAC, Mich.-- Affinity Group Credit Union announced that it has changed its name to Michigan Legacy Credit Union, effective Tuesday.

Michigan Legacy, a $160 million institution based in Pontiac, has six branches located across southeastern Michigan: in Flat Rock, Garden City, Highland, Pontiac, Warren and Wyandotte.

The credit union said that new name will allow it to make a “greater impact within the communities it serves and to become a greater resource for its members.”

“Affinity Group CU has been Michigan-based for over 60 years and I couldn’t be more excited about the new name,” said Carma Peters, Michigan Legacy’s president and CEO, in a statement. “It bridges the legacy of what the credit union has built and the commitment to our member-owners and our communities. This name change represents the strategic direction to bring the financial cooperative difference to our member-owners and our focus on making a difference in the communities we serve.”
