Alliant CU Pulls For Charity

CHICAGO – A team of 20 Alliant CU employees pulled a 99-ton UPS Airbus aircraft 20 feet at O’Hare International Airport as part of the 2010 Plane Pull to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.

Alliant CU Foundation donated money to Special Olympics on behalf of the credit union’s employee volunteers by paying their $50 Plane Pull registration fees totaling $1,000. Pledges were made by friends and family of several team members.

“Moving that plane gave us quite a feeling of accomplishment,” said Angelica Garcia, team captain of Alliant Advantage, one of 30 teams competing in the airplane pulling contest.
