“I am honored by the selection of Vicki to succeed me as ACCU’s president [and] CEO,” Thompson said in a press release. “Her strong educational background, wide range of business experience and her demonstrated leadership skills in the CU industry make her an ideal selection.”

Thompson added that he was confident that VannBerstein would advance the $415 million-asset CU’s mission. The credit union’s call report shows that it earned $2.9 million in net income through the third quarter of 2019, down 13.3% compared to the same period one year prior.

VannBerstein arrives at the credit union from FirstLight Federal Credit Union of El Paso, Texas, where she was the executive vice president and chief financial officer. Before her time at FirstLight, she was EVP and CFO at ServiceLink, a mortgage lending service for Fidelity National.

VannBerstein holds a B.S. in economics and accounting from the Wharton School of Business and an MBA in management and finance from New York University.
