SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. Arrowhead Credit Union here has launched its new mobile app and online banking solutions with the help of 10 local college students.
The “ArrowGeeks” went through intensive training, held several member labs throughout the Inland Empire, and now are available in branches.
“In my family, whenever there is a tech question, we head straight for the nearest 20-something. We wanted to bring that experience to our branches for members,” said Emily Friesen, VP-marketing for Arrowhead.
Arrowhead reported that within 24 hours of launching its app it saw more than 5,600 downloads; a number that rose to 16,000 within a week. The ArrowGeeks, largely recruited from California State University San Bernardino, University of California Riverside, and University of Redlands, held in-branch “sneak-peek” sessions for online banking and the mobile app, attended by as many as 60 members at a time.
In addition to the mobile app, Arrowhead CU has launched a completely redesigned online banking platform with plans to add mobile deposit and personal finance management tools.
