Cardtronics Inks Prepaid Cards Deal With MasterCard

HOUSTON – Cardtronics has entered an exclusive alliance providing Prepaid MasterCard issuers and program managers an opportunity to expand their ATM footprints through Cardtronics' Allpoint surcharge-free ATM network.

The two companies said the agreement provides Prepaid MasterCard issuers with the tools to compete effectively for new business and participants with surcharge-free access to more than 32,000 ATMs within the U.S. The MasterCard Prepaid program, powered by Allpoint, will enable MasterCard issuers to meet and exceed the required levels of surcharge-free access on many payroll, tax, and government programs while meeting increasing general purpose cardholder demand for convenient surcharge-free ATM access.

Allpoint's surcharge-free ATMs are located in highly trafficked retail locations, including Target, 7-Eleven, and Costco, providing convenience to cardholders and driving increased foot traffic for the retailers.
