CEO Retiree Finances College Fellowship

SAN ANTONIO – St. Mary’s University yesterday announced that Ed Speed, recently retired as CEO of Texas Dow Employees CU, and his wife Linda, have endowed the college with $137,500 to establish a fellowship that advances Catholic social teaching, human rights, social justice and peace building.

Speed, a graduate of the college, retired in October after 10 years as CEO of the $2-billion credit union, located in nearby Lake Jackson, Texas.

The fellowship will be known as the Edward and Linda Speed Peace and Justice Fellows Program in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. St. Mary’s is a private Catholic liberal arts university in San Antonio.
