CLEVELAND – It turns out this home of the Rock Hall of Fame, knows how to roll as well.
More than two dozen credit unions and banks participating in the Cleveland Saves program will be inviting members and customers to come in next week with all of their change which will be rolled into an existing or new savings account.
Last year, 1,626 Clevelanders managed to bank $128,448, an average of $79 per person, during the event, known as Roll Your Change Week.
Among the participatants are: Century FCU, Eaton Family CU, Faith Community CU, Firefighters Community CU, as well as KeyBank, National City Bank, Fifth Third Bank and US Bank.
Organizers say sorting and counting change is a great educational activity for kids four and older, and it's an easy way to introduce kids to the concept of saving.
