Desert Schools Raises CMN Funds With BBQ

PHOENIX – Desert Schools Federal Credit Union raised $8,800 for Phoenix Children’s Hospital during its annual Children’s Miracle Network employee BBQ. The event was held this month at the credit union’s headquarters at 48th Street and Washington in Phoenix.

In 2009 Desert Schools raised $324,000 for the hospital. All proceeds benefit the “1 Darn Cool School,” an on-site classroom facility that benefits long-term patients. The funds are raised through a variety of events all year from the Desert Schools CMN Golf Tournament and branch change drives to an annual Bowl-a-Thon.
 
Several companies donated food, prizes and other services to the BBQ. Contributors included Fresh & Easy, The Equiguard Agency, First Data, Experian, Total Wine, Hewlett Packard, AT&T, DPAir Corp., Sun Devil Auto and Radian.
