WOBURN, Mass. – EasCorp FCU said yesterday it and its wholly owned CUSO, Vertifi Software, LLC, have expanded their remote deposit capture service, called DeposZip, to include mobile deposits.
The service was rolled out last week by Torrance Community CU for an iPhone application. The corporate is currently developing an application for Google’s Android platform.
The software was developed by Vertifi as a plug-in to a credit union’s mobile banking service. The applications make use of the built-in camera to acquire the images, and image pre-processing and validation takes place on-device. Checks are processed electronically end-to-end through Vertifi, and deposits are typically posted to members’ accounts in real time with immediate access to check images.
DeposZip was developed for common desktop scanners in 2007 as the first remote deposit capture service built for household consumers. It has been made available commercially to and through financial institutions as a hosted service.
