State regulators have given Ent Credit Union in Colorado Springs the green light to expand to additional counties in-state, the company reported Monday.
Colorado’s Division of Financial Services approved the credit union’s application to offer membership to individuals and businesses that live, work, worship or attend school in four more counties: Arapahoe, Douglas, Fremont and Jefferson.
At the end of December, Ent had more than 15,000 members living in these four counties. Approval of Ent’s expansion request was preceded by its change to a state of Colorado credit union charter in January.
Previously, Ent’s field of membership included El Paso, Pueblo, Teller and Denver Counties, as well as select communities in Weld, Adams and Arapahoe counties. The credit union has $4.3 billion in assets and more than 260,000 members.
“This expansion will allow us to increase our geographic and economic diversity, providing our credit union with added stability during economic downturns, and will also provide increased service convenience to our members as we add ATM and service center locations in these new communities,” Randy Bernstein, Ent’s president and chief executive, said in a written statement.
