Ansel Cruz, 30, pleaded guilty to armed bank robbery on Jan. 6, 2012, at the credit union where he worked until 2011.

Authorities said an armed man who disguised his face in black paint robbed the credit union after regular hours as some employees worked late. The assailant tied up several employees and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Employees who reviewed surveillance video recognized Cruz, who was arrested five days later.

Stolen cash, dark clothing and money bands used by the credit union were found at the Cruz home in Laredo.
