The $1.1 billion credit union, located in Boston neighborhood, has launched a series of radio and print spots through metro Boston touting itself as "banking's best kept secret” and featuring members "admitting" that they keep the benefits of the fast-growing credit union a secret.

The 86-year-old credit union has spread rapidly throughout metropolitan Boston over the past two years with mergers of the Boston Globe FCU, University CU, Secure CU and State Employees CU. The four mergers have propelled Metro to the position of the Bay State’s fourth-largest credit union.

"Between the expansion of our footprint geographically the last few years, and the continuing backlash against big banks for high fees and poor service, the time was right to step up our outreach and welcome more members," said Robert Cashman, Metro's president.
