NEW YORK — The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions announced the expansion of Juntos Avanzamos (Spanish for "Together We Advance"), a designation for credit unions committed to serving and empowering Hispanic consumers.
Juntos Avanzamos was developed by the Cornerstone Credit Union League, which represents Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
Two Arizona credit unions, $1.5 billion Vantage West CU of Tucson, and $33 million MariSol FCU of Phoenix, each received the Juntos Avanzamos designation in the last week of September. The addition of the two CUs was made in conjunction with the joint Federation Annual Conference and CUNA Community Credit Union Conference held in Phoenix.
The Federation said the move marks the national expansion of the program, and brings the number of Juntos Avanzamos-designated credit unions to 40.
