TUCSON, Ariz. – First Edition Community CU and Vantage West CU officially merged today following a vote by First Edition members in which 90% favored the marriage.
Vantage West is the continuing charter.
At the time of the merger, First Edition Community was a $40-million CU serving 5,500 members in Maricopa County. Vantage West is a $1.1 billion CU serving 105,000 members in Pima and Pinal counties and a large portion of Maricopa County.
Markets are still pricing in an increase in the federal funds rate later this month, but Federal Reserve Gov. Michael Barr said his vote will depend on incoming unemployment and inflation data.
The initial coin offering boom of a decade ago was a manic free-for-all, but inside that mania was the germ of a genuinely good idea.
Many traders took the Federal Reserve chair's tough talk on inflation as a signal that the central bank is poised for a rate hike, but the corresponding dip in long-dated bonds proved short-lived.
