First Financial Continues To Underwrite Health Care For Kids

Saying it was responding to a growing need for finance assistance for child health care services, First Financial of Maryland Federal Credit Union has donated more than $75,000 to Baltimore and Carroll County Public School systems. A donation of $41,000 was given to Carroll County Public Schools (CCPS) Health Services Department to assist students who are underinsured or have no health insurance, and are in need of health care services.

Earlier, First Financial made another donation to help address the health care needs of children in Baltimore County Public Schools when a grant totaling more than $34,000 was given to the Office of Health Services to purchase health equipment for schools in need and to provide health care services for students who do not have adequate health insurance.

The donations were made possible through the Credit Union's Visa credit card program and the KidsFirst Fund. Through the KidsFirst Fund, a percentage of all member purchases is donated to benefit children in the Credit Union community. Since the programs' inception in 1989, First Financial FCU has donated more than $1.2 million to benefit children in need.
