SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Four CUs have banded together to send the message that credit unions are a better place to bank.
"Don't Bank On It" is what consumers in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan are hearing thanks to the $470 million Honor CU and the$1.6 billion United FCU, both Saint Joseph, Mich., and the $465 million Notre Dame FCU and the $2.5 billion Teachers CU, both from South Bend.
The effort promotes the advantages of using a credit union over a bank, such as members-first approach, competitive rates, and low fees. Advertising also emphasizes that it's easy to make the switch from a bank to a CU.
Notre Dame FCU's Deidre Davis said, "This kind of collaborative credit union partnership, aimed ultimately at the benefit of consumers, is the perfect example of how our industry cares about the greater good of the communities we serve."
The campaign runs through the end of the month.
