Gateway Metro CU Promotes SVP To CEO

ST. LOUIS – Gateway Metro CU said its longtime CEO David Barton retired Jan. 1 and was succeeded by Larry Pixley, senior vice president of the $180 million credit union.

Pixley’s credit union career started in 1978 as a loan officer for Universal CU (now Vantage CU). In 1986 he became assistant manager at St. Louis Fed Center Credit Union, where he was named president in 1991. St. Louis Fed Center merged with Gateway Metro in 1999, and Pixley became vice president of business development.

Barton served as CEO for 17 years.
