Keesler FCU Pays Out $3.4M in Bonus Dividends

Biloxi, Miss. — Keesler Federal Credit Union here announced it has paid out a loan interest rebate and deposit bonus dividend of about $3.4 million to its members.

The $2.2 billion CU said the bonus dividend was based on dividends earned in 2014 on primary share accounts and sub-accounts, while the loan interest rebate was based on the total loan interest paid in 2014.

"This is what sets us apart from other financial institutions," said Keesler's chairman Jim Hollingsworth, in a statement. "As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, our members share in the success in many ways, with benefits like lower loan rates or higher deposit rates. Keesler Federal had a successful 2014 and we are excited to be able to give back to our members."

Keesler is the largest credit union based in Mississippi and has about 188,000 members.
