Campbell received a $7,500 HAVEN grant from Kirtland FCU and FHLB Dallas, as well as an additional $6,600 in funds from the credit union to replace the worn carpeting throughout his home with hardwood floors. Campbell is a disabled veteran and has trouble traversing the old carpet. The smooth, hardwood floors provide a safe environment for Campbell, Kirtland FCU said.

Campbell is a U.S. Marine and U.S. Army veteran. He served on seven combat deployments, including Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003. He has been awarded two Bronze Star Medals.

HAVEN provides grant funds up to $7,500 to support necessary home modifications for the homes of veterans and active duty service members who have been disabled in the line of duty since Sept. 11, 2001.
