TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) has introduced a new name for its service corporation – LEVERAGE.

The new company was born out of the consolidation of the Alabama and Florida Credit Union Leagues’ service corporations.

The service corporation’s services will be available to credit unions across the country, according to LSCU President/CEO Patrick La Pine, including the collaborative buying power of the company’s Business Services Division program with Office Depot, which it says saves credit unions approximately 70% on office supplies. Credit unions on the Ventelligence vendor contract program have experienced a 25.5% savings on commodity purchases, La Pine said. A relationship with Sprint Mobile Services also generated $300,000 in non-interest income to credit unions in 2009.

“The name LEVERAGE is a natural fit for the LSCU Service Corporation,” said La Pine. “Everything we do for our credit unions and our business partners is to create an edge for them. The LEVERAGE brand will be a powerful resource for credit unions to maximize their future growth.”
