LOC FCU Opens 16th In-School Branch

FARMINGTON, Mich. – LOC FCU opened its 16th in-school branch at Hillside Elementary School in Farmington Hills.

Forty-two fourth grade students will operate the branch under the supervision of LOC financial education specialist Shayna McArthur. Students completed an application and resume and then were interviewed by McArthur.

Almost 600 students in the elementary school will have the opportunity to learn financial literacy when they open savings accounts and make deposits at Hillside once a week throughout the school year.

The $130 million credit union, which serves Livingston and Oakland counties, plans to open two more student-run branches later this year.
