JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – Marine FCU raised $140,000 during its annual golf tournament that will be split evenly between Jacksonville USO and Hope for the Warriors.
Funds raised during the 18th annual Marine Federal Credit Union Charity Golf Tournament at Jacksonville Country Club topped the previous high of $110,000.
Robin Kelleher, president of Hope for the Warriors, said Marine FCU has been instrumental in helping the group grow from its inception at Camp Lejeune in May 2006 to what is now a national organization. She said the group uses the money to pay for housing, utilities and other basic needs for wounded service members and their families.
