Michigan First CU Launches At-Home Deposits

LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. – Michigan First CU has introduced at-home scan and deposits, allowing members and businesses to scan checks from home or the office and directly deposit them into a Michigan First savings or checking account.

Michigan First is one of the first credit unions in Michigan to offer the home-based banking product developed by CO-OP Financial Services and branded "CO-OP My Deposit." Michigan First calls its program EZ Scan&Deposit.

Members can log onto their Michigan First account online and scan the check using any TWAIN-compliant scanner. (TWAIN is a standard that allows a computer to communicate with a graphic device, such as a scanner; most scanners are TWAIN compliant.) The scanned check image is then uploaded into the Michigan First secure database. The check is verified and deposited directly into the selected account. A step-by-step video tutorial is available on the Michigan First Web site.
