WEST JORDAN, Utah Mountain America CU has introduced person-to-person payments powered by PayPal.
Mountain America said its members now can transfer funds to anyone, regardless of where they bank, with Send Money, a new feature of the credit union’s online and mobile banking. All members need is a mobile number or an e-mail address.
“Consumers are asking for the ability to pay their friends electronically, including splitting checks at restaurants, paying babysitter wages via digital money, or even sharing in monthly rent. And customers want this service to be free and instantaneous,” said Rob Cummings, senior vice president of online and mobile banking for the $3.5-billion credit union. “Send Money does all this, and more.”
Send Money is available through Mountain America’s online branch and mobile app.
